Notability offers it on import on some devices, GoodNotes doesn't. Doing it in the PDF means the space is there in every app, on every device, forever.
Slide 14's derivation sits beside slide 14 — not in a separate notebook you have to line up again at revision time.
The default mode grows the page box instead of redrawing the page, so text stays selectable and searchable and any links still work.
